2024 the Derby will be virtual again…download the FishDonkey App and look us up! It’s a weekend thing now.

*Different style, different categories…a walleye category was added, as well as a crappie stringer!!

All fish must be caught on Bang’s Lake only. The FishDonkey App takes the photo, it is timestamped and GPS tells us your location. Minimum size to register a fish is 7″. *This is not open to other lakes.

Veterans Path to Hope Outdoors (formerly TLS Veterans Outdoors) has been named as the 2024 beneficiary of our proceeds. Come support our Veterans at our annual ice fishing derby. Our ice fishing derby is hosted on Bangs Lake – Wauconda, IL. We award thousands of dollars in wild card items and individual angler prizes for largest northern pike, bass, perch, crappie, walleye and bluegill.

About Us

The 2024 derby will be a Friday-Sunday affair. Download FishDonkey and have fun! The LVVA Ice Fishing Derby, supporting veterans organizations and programs, has become one the largest and most successful ice fishing events in Northern Illinois. We have a great time in support of a great cause, our veterans and active duty military. Thanks to our generous sponsors there are plenty of door prizes and raffles, and big fish contests.
